Luniushina, Hart Headline Marshall’s Sun Belt Honors

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall’s Kseniia Luniushina was named Sun Belt Swimming Performer of the Year and Freshman of the Year, highlighting a strong showing for the Thundering Herd in the conference’s postseason awards.

Luniushina set multiple Sun Belt records, including the 50 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke, breaking the 100 Back mark four times. She also helped the Herd’s 400 Medley Relay team set a Sun Belt Championship and season record (3:38.11). At the conference meet, she scored 57 points, earned Co-Top Meet Scorer honors, and was the only Sun Belt swimmer ranked in the NCAA Top 100 (75th, 100 Backstroke).

Marshall’s Madeline Hart received the Sun Belt Elite Award, given to the student-athlete with the highest GPA among competitors on the final day of the championship.

In total, 11 Marshall swimmers earned all-conference honors:

  • First Team: Luniushina, Hart, Paige Banton, Audrey West, Grace Kelsheimer, Lauren McNamara, Eszter Laban
  • Second Team: Parker Lynch, Mia McBride, Preslava Tosheva, Molly Warner

The Herd now turns its attention to offseason training after a standout year in Sun Belt competition.
