Marshall Men’s Golf Ends Mobile Bay Intercollegiate with Two Top-20 Finishes

MOBILE, Ala. – Marshall men’s golf wrapped up the 2025 Mobile Bay Intercollegiate on Tuesday, with J.F. Aber and Joseph Kalaskey both finishing under par and inside the top 20 at Magnolia Grove Golf Club.

Aber tied for 12th place at 2-under for the tournament, while Kalaskey ended the week in a tie for 16th at 1-under. Both players posted solid performances throughout the event, helping the Herd to a seventh-place team finish.

“It was a good week for the team. I felt like we got better this week,” Marshall head coach Matt Grobe said. “J.F. played solid and finished at 2-under, and Joseph shot 1-under to finish 16th. The other guys also had strong stretches of play.”

Kalaskey’s final round included a 1-under 70, which matched the effort of teammate Cameron Jarvis. For Kalaskey, the round marked his second under-par score of the tournament, following a stellar 5-under 66 in his opening round. He also caught fire on the back nine, picking up four birdies over a six-hole stretch to secure his place in the top 20.

Jarvis had a strong final round as well, finishing with five birdies, the most of any Marshall golfer. Aber’s 4-under 67 in his weather-delayed second round was the best single-round performance for the Herd. After an early bogey, Aber rattled off five birdies in his final 17 holes to finish strong.

South Alabama, the host team, won the event, while Marshall now turns its attention to the Golfweek/AGT Invitational at True Blue Golf Course in Pawley’s Island, South Carolina, later this week.
